Step 1. Grab Your insurance Card and your old registration card or pink slip, while you are in your vehicle also grab your current mileage. Also grab a credit or debit card.

Step 2  Click to Go to the website: PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services – Online Vehicle Services Login Page or type in address bar: https://www.dot3e.penndot.gov/vehicle_services/vrlogin.jsp#top?20230922125807768=20230922125807768

Step 3  There are three fields in which you need to fill in to pull up your registration:
First one is Title number the first 8 digits- this is from the second line on your registration card
Second one is the plate number: which is the 1st line on your registration card
And the third field is the clicking the box that it is you who are checking the registration or someone you permitted to do so.

Step 4 you are going to come to the page below and it is going to ask you to verify your information double check your name and address( especially if you moved)

STEP 5 You are going to come to page below: it is going to ask you whether you want to renew or reprint your registration if you need to renew you click renew, if you just need a copy you click on the third one down

STEP 6 we need to renew so we clicked the first button and got the page below:

You are going to click yes for inspection
You are going to click how you want to renew for 2 years or 1 year- my advice is if you are planning on keeping car long term click for the 2 years, if you are going to transfer to a kid, possibly sell, or it may not last more than a year or so because of state inspection standards click for a 1 year

The next field is where you would input the current mileage of your vehicle
The following field will be your insurance information for the effective and expiration dates make sure you input the year part of the date as 4 numbers or it will kick it out. A lot of insurance companies do not always put a expiration date on their cards, so in that case look on your card it will have a blurb on there about being good for 3,6, or 12 months. You will have to do some math from there for the expiration date.
The next part you will click yes for insurance
And then you click the box about understanding the need to print your new registration card.
I will commonly ignore the box asking about duplicates, because now that you know how to do it, it is not that bad.

STEP 7 Is the Donation Page- I’ll be honest we click no on every one.

STEP  8 is the summary page double check everything is correct and click the first option

STEP 9  is the shopping cart Click the third option. If you have email check in box and fill in email address

STEP 10 hit continue on page and it will take you to page below input your payment info, check the “I am not a robot box”

STEP 11 You are going to come to this page. Here is the important part. On the screen below click on the green button that says to” print your documents” that one will hold your registration. The yellow button is for your receipt.

STEP 12 On this Screen you are going to click the first option and a pop up or in my case in comes on the side for a PDF will  alert you

Click on that document and it should pop up like below click print icon and you are good to go

NOTES

If you are doing it on your phone, when you get to last screen with your registration- and you don’t print because you are on your phone, I Recommend taking a screenshot of it. You use it for a traffic stop but you do need to be able to produce it. Same with insurance if you have it on your phone.

I have also had people tell me that if you renew it online that they notice they don’t get the paper reminders to renew the following year, so I recommend putting it on your calendar at the 1st of the month that you are due to renew.

If you need help just ask me, I will be happy to help you.
